Kolkata Case: Ex-RG Kar Hospital Principal Sandip Ghosh Sent to 8-Day Police Custody in Corruption Case
Kolkata Case: Dr Sandip Ghosh, the former principal of RG Kar Medical College and Hospital, was recently arrested by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on charges of financial misconduct and corruption. He has been placed in police custody for eight days as part of the ongoing investigation. The case involves alleged financial irregularities during his tenure at the hospital, and the CBI is seeking to uncover a larger network involved in these activities (The New Indian Express).
The arrest followed a series of interrogations that lasted over 15 days, after which Dr. Ghosh, along with his security guard and two hospital vendors, was detained. The vendors are accused of supplying materials to the hospital under suspicious circumstances. This investigation is the second major one involving the hospital since August, which also saw a separate case involving the alleged rape and murder of a female medic.
